Ethanol – Part 1

Saturday was Open Morning, which is like open evening, but in the morning. I spent most of my time in chemistry, and the rest of it wandering round aimlessly. By far the most interesting point was when Beavis was spraying salts dissolved in ethanol into a flame to make it change colour. And the spray went backwards a bit, and burned his hand. So he dropped the bottle, throwing flaming ethanol all over the floor. He then picked up the bottle and placed it upside-sown in the sink, filling the sink with flames. Then we got the fire extinguisher out. Oh the hilarity. Then it had to be refilled anyway, so we just sprayed it around the lab.

Then I got changed and went into Manchester, and bought some presents and thread and cork circles. Then I went home, and on to Nick's party.
